Through the Brighter Future Foundation, KBZ has contributed US$2.4 million to implement clean water supply systems for towns and villages in Southern Shan State.
Despite problematic geographical conditions water supply systems are now successfully operating in in 16 neighborhoods of Kalaw, Bawsine, Heho, Pindaya, Taunggyi, Hopone and Nansan.
The project has provided drinking water to 30 villages, 19 schools, 14 monasteries and a hospital. This has impacted on the lives of 6771 families approximately equating to 40,000 people.
In the words of the Venerable HeThame Padamya Hill Monk Ashin Oo Kaw Winda, it is ‘a gift more precious and rare than gold’.
