Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Central Bank of Myanmar are launching an initiative to implement a nationwide financial literacy programme into Myanmar. The meetings, held in Yangon, are led by The Financial Literacy Group- a Washington based company that set up financial literacy programmes for the US Treasury. The second meeting of this National Financial Literacy Council took place in Yangon on 7-8 June 2015. Attended by various NGOs and banks dedicated to build a community around financial education in Myanmar and to work together to bring a streamlined strategy for the country, the representatives shared experience and ideas on how to better empower adults and youth to make sound financial decisions in Myanmar’s rapidly growing economy. In this changing landscape, making informed decisions about your finance is more important than ever, and something we can benefit from at all stages in life. KBZ has made a dedication to work with the ADB to help launch this initiative and bring a greater knowledge of financial literacy to the country and engage with the 95% unbanked population.
